  • There are prescribed norms and standards for opening of Study Centres. The basic minimum infrastructure facility and faculty requirement have been fixed by the University for the opening and operation of study centres.

  • The inspection committees consisting of senior persons of the University are appointed by the University to inspect the study centres. The centres fulfilling the requirement of norms and standards of the University are approved as a Study Centre. The Study Centres organize stipulated number of classes in the form of PCPs (Personal Contact Programmes) as per the schedule given by the university.

  • The courses are run under the academic patronage of the parent teaching departments (UTDs) and the syllabus, curricula development and amendment is carried out with the help of Academic bodies of the respective faculty.

  • For the smooth conduct of academic matters related to the courses, course coordinators have been appointed from the departments. They act as a channel of communication between the Directorate and the departments and also responsible to develop/got developed the study material from the subject experts in SIM format. In the recent past a lot of study material has been developed and converted in the SIM format and the process is still going on. In addition to the above the course coordinators also design the guidelines for project/assignments/portfolio/synopsis/Training reports, conduct PCP, counsel the students in academic matter.

  • Periodical inspections of study centres are also conducted in order to ensure that norms and standards fixed by the University are complied with.

  • The Directorate also interacts with the Directors of the various Study Centres in order to solve the difficulties faced by the students of the Study Centres. The suggestions given by the Study Centres are well taken by the University and necessary changes wherever required are made.
